Treasure in The Desert
Shining bright in the moonlight,
a haven for some, a new experience for others,
a place lies waiting for a traveler to set upon it.
The wildlife flock to the treasure found within the stripes of orange and white.
Humans, birds, reptiles, insects, all flock to the desert;
all hoping for a taste of the treasure lying under a blanket of moonlight.
Prickly cacti wave and watch as travelers pass the orange and white,
knowing that the hunger in their bellies outweigh their agenda.
Ripples of thunder roll in the distance,
high in the midnight sky freckled with bright stars.
Regardless of where you are headed,
or where you are coming from,
the stripes of orange and white will welcome all.
