Where am I by: Samia Qureshi, Gouche, 2018

In a Canyon Elsewhere,

I held myself.

With both feet planted on the unknown ground.

The recognizable shades behind me

Echo their concern;

Their voices would soon die out.

Alone,

I feel enriched.

A grey man in a canvas of hues.

I don’t plan on remaining however,

I know that soon the sun

Will turn from my favor

To beat me mindlessly,

Having once more forgotten that I am here

temporarily.
