I Am a Storyteller

I am a storyteller

Living to tell

What I know

What I feel

What I know

Is Real

The truth is

We are all

Living books

Some of us

Are closed

Locked up, put away

Unexposed

Remaining a mystery

Hiding our history

Some of us

Are open

You can read us well

We have no secrets

We live to tell

I am a storyteller

Always telling my truth

So you can see

Yourself in Me

As I see

Myself in you

Everyone has a story to tell

Even those of us

Who hide it well

Our Past, Our Future

Yet to be seen

We were

We are

We will be

New Beginnings

New Endings

All the possibilities

Our Stories

Continue to Unfold

So much

Still Untold

I am a storyteller

Living to tell

What is in my heart

What makes it swell

Like a heavy book

With too many pages

I just want to be

Free

Let it all be known

This is my story

This truth

This truth is imprinted

Inside of Me

And I will

Continue to tell it

Until I am old

I do not care

What I have been told

Because

My Story

Is not merely

the Past pages

It is

A Legacy

That never ages

And though

I will pass

With time

My story

My story shall last

And those who hear it

Will be inspired

By the pages of my life

And after nighttime,

The sun will again rise,

But it will shine brighter

Cause my story was told

And the world

Will always know

Who I am

That I am

A Storyteller
